Phoenix, Ariz.-based Banner Health and Kansas City-based Cerner Corp announced a multi-year strategic partnership to advance and innovate in health care delivery. Banner currently uses Cerner’s systems for IT; the deal is an expansion of scope, including the relocation of several Cerner staff to work on site in Phoenix.
Banner is a longstanding client of Cerner, which includes the deployment of Cerner Millennium EHR at all 26 Banner hospitals. According to Banner, 21 of those hospitals have achieved Stage 7 on the HIMMS EMRAM scale.
In a press release, the companies said that they will continue to collaborate in their approach to population health management and improve clinical outcomes, including an expanded rollout of its EHR systems to all clinic sites. Cerner’s “HealtheIntent” enabled solutions allows for the aggregation of clinical, operational and financial data, and normalizes the data to gain insights for individuals and entire populations.
