An analysis of MSSP providers found that 27 ACOs have quietly left the program this year, reports Becker’s Hospital Review. Citing an analysis by Leavitt Partners, Becker’s notes that 13 missing ACOs were a result of mergers, six ACOs dropped out, leaving eight unaccounted for why they are no longer participating. Of the six who dropped out, five are still pursuing value-based initiatives. Becker’s said that some mergers were between two distinct ACOs, while others were ACOs that were combined by a common parent organization.
